What exactly is The Cross Factor?

The Cross Factor is a programme of events organised by Eglinton Presbyterian Church.

What is it all about?

In a word “Jesus”. We believe that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing that can happen to anyone and The Cross Factor is designed to encourage people to enter into that relationship.

Tell us why it is important then.

Briefly, Jesus gave up his life in order that we might be forgiven all the wrongdoing that comes from natural human instinct and then He rose from the dead so that we might have eternal life. Life with God on earth now and then in heaven forever.

When and where will it happen?

It will happen Monday 18 – Friday 22 April. And it will be in two venues. Mainly in a big tent on the Ballysillan Road at Sunningdale, but also in Eglinton Church halls ( beside the Boys Model School) where our children’s programme will be running.

Is there a programme for kids?

Yep! 7.00 p.m. -9.00 p.m. each evening for children of primary school age and also a creche for everyone under playschool age. We hope that parents (or whoever!) will drop the children off at 7.00 p.m. and make their way the short distance from the halls to the tent for the main event which will start at 7.30 p.m. The event there should conclude around 8.30 p.m., and then children can be collected from the halls after that. You will be welcome to return to the tent with your children for a Bar-be-que around 9.15pm.

What if a child gets upset or takes ill?

No problem, there will be a phone/text link between the halls and the tent so parents will be contacted immediately.

Is there anything for young people?

Yes. 10.00 p.m.-11.30 p.m. in the tent. Secondary school age upwards. It will include plenty of music. And there will be a talk by Lachlan Webster (who explains himself on this website)! Lots of time to chat and chill. And between the main event and the youth event there will be a bar-b-que.

What will happen in the main event?

Jackie Spence will talk about the importance of that relationship with Jesus and explain how it can happen. Music. Interviews. Time to talk and refreshments to be enjoyed. Hearing more about a relationship with Jesus.

Is anything happening during the day?

Yes. The tent will be open from 10.00 a.m. onwards each day. Everyone is welcome to drop in for light refreshments whenever they want. In the afternoons there will be stuff for kids - like face painting and maybe even some music workshops. From 3.00 p.m. each day there will be a family film show.
